


Start Your Decorating Business Class: Part 1 (Planning)
Has decorating always been your favorite part of hosting a party? If you said yes, why not put those decor skills to use and start an event design business of your own? Join my 6-week session to start planning for your business!
Here’s what you can expect to learn in this class:
Creating a Business Plan: You’re probably so excited just to get out there, find clients, and start decorating. But you’ll need to take time to adequately prepare first. You’ll need to carefully construct a plan, which you’re going to create with my help! I’ll even provide you with a template that will make planning much easier.
Creating A Marketing Plan: It's very important to be intentional when it comes to marketing. You need to know who to market to, when's the best time to market your decorations, and the best marketing tools to reach your target clients.
Pricing Your Decorations Process: Pricing can be complicated. What you will charge for your decorations will vary according to the event, the demand for your service, and your location, among other things. I’m here to help you create a pricing strategy and start thinking through your booking process.
Creating A Checklist For Launch: I’ll walk you through all of the steps I took to officially start my decorating business. This includes creating an LLC, obtaining business insurance, setting up systems, creating a contract, etc.
AS A BONUS, THIS CLASS ALSO INCLUDES A LIVE BALLOON BACKDROP DECORATING SESSION. YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN AND PRACTICE ALONG WITH ME!
At the end of the class, you will have the opportunity to receive a certificate of completion. If a certificate is desired, please come prepared to complete homework on a weekly basis.
When are the classes held? The weekly calls will be held via Zoom on Tuesdays at 7pm EST. Class starts on May 27th.
What if you miss one of the weekly classes? If you miss a class, don't worry! Each class will be recorded. You will be able to watch the recording after each class at your own convenience.
What do I need for this class? You will need a pen and paper to write down notes. You can watch the classes on your computer or mobile device.
What happens after I sign up for the class? Once you pay for the class, you will receive an automated email confirmation. Your order will say “pending”. That’s just a status that my website provides. Don’t worry. I will mark your order as complete once the class is over.
When will I receive the Zoom link for the class: The Zoom information will be sent a week prior to the class start date. I will send the Zoom information to the email address provided during the checkout process.
